Little Rock police say one 17-year-old was killed and another wounded by a man who said they attempted to rob him Wednesday in an apartment building at 6115 W. Markham Street.

Police were called after 5 p.m. Wednesday about gun shots. They also learned that a juvenile with multiple gunshot wound had been admitted to the nearby St. Vincent Infirmary with non-threatening wounds.

A second juvenile was found in a stairway, fatally wounded.

A police release said a resident of the building, Siddik Haidara, said he’d exchanged gunfire with two males who tried to rob him. He was interviewed by detectives and released without charges pending review by the prosecutor’s office.

The police have not identified those shot because they are juveniles.
