Police say they are seeking a second suspect in the case. A warrant has been issued for DeShaun Rushing, 21. Rushing was shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting on Park Lane in April. A teen by the same name, then a high school student, was arrested in a robbery in 2012,

New information yesterday led to a break in the case, police said. They are hopeful that arrests in this case might have a broader impact in reduction of a recent spate of violence in the city. Jackson was arrested today following a court appearance on an earlier charge.

The child was in her car with her mother on South Harrison Street the night of Nov. 22 when gunshots struck their vehicle. A $50,000 reward had been offered for information leading to a prosecution.
