40/29 reports that the dissolution of the Jenny Lind Fire Department in Sebastian County has led to criminal charges against the former fire chief and his father for donating department equipment to the Cedarville Fire Department.

Former Jenny Lind Fire Chief Brian Allison and his father, James Dean Allison, were arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Theft, a Felony. Their bond was set at $2,500.

“The two had no authority to remove this equipment from the stations,” according to a release sent by Capt. Philip Pevehouse with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.

Five fire trucks with breathing apparatus were nowhere to be found when county officials checked the Jenny Lind station after the Sebastian County Quorum Court voted to dissolve it and merge its duties with other departments.
