Karen Fuller, an Arkansas native who once anchored KATV newscasts, has sued a Kansas City TV station for terminating her without cause after 12 years at the station. She says it’s a case of age and gender discrimination.

A report in the Kansas City Star quotes Fuller’s complaint as saying “the company has created a “ceiling age” for its female anchors but not male anchors” and that “women age out in their mid-to late 40s.” Her contract wasn’t renewed in 2015, when Fuller was 47. She has since taken a job as an anchor for a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, TV station.
