Arkansas is moving forward with its new medical marijuana law, with applications available beginning Friday to obtain medical marijuana cards. But note, lawful medical marijuana use means the end of lawful use of firearms.
40/29 reminds that federal law prohibits those using marijuana (even if legal by state law) from possessing or purchasing firearms. Failure to truthfully answer a question about marijuana use when purchasing a firearm also could subject a user to penalties.
It occurs to me that this could be an ancillary benefit of the new marijuana law. (Presuming the law is observed faithfully.)
