A 31-year-old man was fatally shot Thursday night at the Big Country Chateau Apartments on Col. Glenn just west of University Avenue. It was the city’s 35th homicide of 2017.

The police have a description of the suspect leaving the apartment where the man was found. The apartments have been a periodic crime scene, police told KARK last night.

UPDATE: Police identified the victim as Steven McPherson, 43, of North Little Rock. They said he was shot following an argument in the apartment where he was found.
Police have stepped up patrols in the neighborhood because of crime along Col. Glenn. Both city and state officers were across the street at a Kum & Go convenience stores when they heard the shots ring out.

ALSO: A 36-year-old North Little Rock bail bondsman, Damian Mitchell, was found fatally shot near his home on Ira Street off East Broadway early this morning.
