Kyle Massey at Arkansas Business reports here on a plan by Southwestern Electric Power, which provides electricity in western Arkansas, to invest more than $3 billion in an Oklahoma facility that uses wind power to generate electricity.

This is yet another significant move by the company’s parent, AEP, to move away from coal, which dominated the company’s generating for years.

Gotta wonder what coal’s best friend, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, will say about this in the required proceedings before the Arkansas Public Service Commission. And what about Sens. Tom Cotton and John Boozman, opponents of the Clean Line project to move wind power from Oklahoma through Arkansas?
