One person was killed in an early morning homicide on Howard St. in Little Rock today, according to our partner KARK. Neither the cause of death or the identity of the victim have been released.
UPDATE, police release:
“On 08/06/2017 at approximately 0445 hours Officers responded to a shooting just occurred call at 2115 Howard Street. Upon arrival officers located a black male victim inside the residence. The victim had been shot at least one time but was able to speak with officers and indicated that there were other victims in the house. Officers then located a second black male victim who had also been shot multiple times. This victim was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. There was also a twelve year old male victim located who had injuries. The juvenile had not been shot but had been struck with a pistol. MEMS responded to he scene to provide medical treatment. The shooting victim was transported to UAMS with life threatening injuries. The juvenile was transported to Children’s Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
“Homicide Detectives and CSSU personnel responded to the scene. Detectives were advised that two black males, who had their faces covered, forced their way into the house at gunpoint and began demanding items. They struck the juvenile with the gun and then shot the shooting victim. As this was taking place the homicide victim walked into the room and the suspects shot him and fled the residence.
“The deceased victim was transported by the coroner to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy. The suspects are described as black males with their faces covered by bandanas.
“The homicide victim has been identified as (Danny Lewis, B/M,01/30/1967, of Little Rock). The shooting victim has been identified as (Kenneth Lewis, B/M, 03/03/1958, of Little Rock). The two victims are brothers and the juvenile is the grandson.”
