Sens. Tom Cotton and John Boozman finally warmed to saying Nazism is bad, but on the more relevant question of Donald Trump, they and most Arkansas Republican officeholders have been conspicuously silent. By contrast, see U.S. Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee.

“The president has not yet been able to demonstrate the stability, nor some of the competence, that he needs to demonstrate in order for him to be successful,” Corker said. He added, “[Trump] also recently has not demonstrated that he understands the character of this nation.”

Status quo simply won’t get the job done, as far as Corker is concerned. There has to be a major course correction.

“We’re at a point where there needs to be radical changes at the White House — it has to happen,” Corker said. “[Trump] recently has not demonstrated that he understands the character of our nation — what has made it great and what it is today. He’s got to demonstrate the characteristics of a president who understands that. Without those things happening, our nation is going to go through great peril.”

Tom? Tom?
