Four people were arrested in Pine Bluff overnight as police swooped on two illegal gambling houses that sound more like mini-casinos, with officers citing 20 patrons, pulling the electronic guts from over 75 gambling machines, and seizing nearly a half million dollars in cash.
Late Tuesday night, officers with the Pine Bluff Police Department, the Tri-County Drug Task Force and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office hit locations at 8213 Highway 63 South in Jefferson County, and 3510 W. 6th Ave. in Pine Bluff. Arrested were Henry Gipson, 69; Joyce Moore, 57; Frankie Shaw, 35, and Zachery Smith, 28. Police allege they were the operators of the facilities. Twenty gamblers were also cited.
