The latest reports say more than 20 people were killed this morning in a mass shooting in a Baptist church southeast of San Antonio. The gunman was killed after a chase.

Details are still unfolding. The shooter apparently walked into the church, First Baptist of Sutherland Springs, during a service and began shooting. Children are reportedly among the dead.

The San Antonio News Express says 28 have been confirmed dead. 15 to 20 more were wounded. But it appears the number  now is 27 with many seriously injured.  A suspect has been identified. He recently boasted on Facebook about a semi-automatic weapon.
