UA Little Rock’s athletic director gets five-year contract

UA Little Rock announced this morning that Chancellor Andrew Rogerson had given Athletic Director Chase Conque a contract extension. He’s now working under a five-year contract that continues through 2022.

Conque has been at the school since 2015.

His deal puts him on a par, in the longevity of coverage at least, with Jeff Long, athletic director on the UA-Fayetteville campus. I’m sure his annual pay is short of Long’s $1 million or so. The news release didn’t mention pay terms or incentive clauses, though it touted the high GPA of athletes during Conque’s tenure.

I’ve asked for a copy of the Conque contract for details.

UPDATE: A link to the contract here. He’s paid $178,800 and is eligible for merit and incentive pay raises. He has an automatic rollover of the five-year contract every year unless notified otherwise by the chancellor. If he’s fired for “convenience,” he’ll be paid time remaining on contract, subject to “mitigation.”
