Roy Moore, the GOP Senate candidate who has been accused of molesting multiple teenage girls, came out of hiding yesterday to hold a final rally.
His wife Kayla, reading from prepared notes, taunted the media in attendance:
Fake news would tell you that we don’t care for Jews. I tell you all this because I’ve seen it all so I just want to set the record straight while they’re here. [Waves, smiling.] One of our attorneys is a Jew.
I’d recommend watching the video above, via NBC News, to really get the full effect of the prepared zinger — they seemed quite proud of it.
This campaign can’t end soon enough. And it will, God willing, tonight. Polls are all over the place, some showing Moore with a solid lead and others showing his Democratic opponent Doug Jones out front.
Meanwhile, Politico reports:
One Moore-aligned group, Restore Our Godly Heritage PAC, is airing commercials on nearly 60 stations around the state accusing Jones of “trying to steal the election with vile, racist ads on black radio.”
“Desperate to steal this Senate race, Jones and his race-hustling allies are trying to start a race war and it’s only going to get worse in the final weekend, with millions of dollars in street money to turn out the vote,” it adds.
Oh, and there’s this, from a University of Alabama student who writes for the school’s paper:
I met Roy Moore a few months ago for an interview, he grabbed my hand & pulled me in & said “aren’t you a pretty little thing” – I was 20. https://t.co/El2klecAaq
