VCC Construction announced today the details of work already underway on the former Hall and Davidson buildings in the 200 block of Capitol Avenue to convert it to a boutique hotel.
Arkansas Business outlines the plans to convert the property to a 112-room AC Hotel, a Marriott brand, by the summer of 2019.
We’d written about Rock Capital’s plans for the buildings in early 2017. Later last year, a new investment group bought the property, with investors including some members of the Rock Capital group, Reimagine Hospitality and the family of Sam Alley, CEO of VCC, which is leading the construction work.
The group said the hotel will cater to the cultured corporate traveler and creative leisure visitors, noting that it could be a community spot for locals to gather at the crossroads of the city’s financial and cultural centers.
The hotel will include a restaurant and lounge.
