HUCKABEE: Left of the two larger homes.

Mike Huckabee, the Arkansas tax fugitive who lives in a beachfront home in the Florida panhandle, has gotten involved in a legal and political battle over public access to the state’s beaches.

Huckabee sides with politicians who want to impose barriers to Walton County protection of “customary” use of beaches.

Huckabee, in a letter to a state senator, says the public has been a nuisance on his property.

The  Tampa Bay Times published Huckabee’s letter to the senator.

The story didn’t mention how Huckabee pulled political strings in the first place so that he and a former Arkansas legislator could build on a beach threatened by erosion.

UPDATE: This story gives Huckabee even more credit for the law aiming to keep the public off his beach.
