The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission meets at 4:30 p.m. today and items on the agenda including a beginning of the scoring of dispensary permits by an outside consultant. Also on the agenda: A change in ownership by one of the successful applicants for a cultivation permit, Delta Medical Cannabis.
I requested a copy of the ownership change under the Freedom of Information Act and received a copy this morning. It indicates one of the owners of about 15 percent of the concern, 420 Grow LLC, is to be purchased by five other owners and distributed in varying amounts.
Will the Commission discuss recent reporting on a private meeting between Commissioner Carlos Roman and Ken Shollmier, who led an unsuccessful applicant for a cultivation permit? It’s not on the agenda, though there is a period for public comment. I think the Commission perhaps should discuss meetings by commissioner outside public view. They clearly can lead to suspicious appearances.
