Authorities say a “functioning explosive device” was found this morning that was intended for delivery to Bill and HIllary Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, New York. UPDATE: An explosive also was sent to Barack Obama and there’s a report of suspicious package at CNN mailroom in New York.
UPDATE: Add a check underway at office of U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schulz, apparently for a package with her return address that had been sent to former Attorney General Eric Holder. Here’s an update at midday, which includes a report of white powder included in one package. This was before a report of a suspicious device sent to office of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (unfounded) and report of a suspicious package at the congressional mail office and one sent to Rep. Maxine Waters.
This follows the recent discovery of a bomb at the home of financier George Soros.
Someone on U.S. soil would appear to pose more immediate danger than refugees walking more than a thousand miles south of the U.S. border.
