Jose Andres, the chef who opened an emergency kitchen in Washington to feed furloughed federal workers, has taken the program nationwide with the help of food truck operators across the country, including Little Rock.
Last night, a local supporter popped up on Twitter.
#LittleRock and #CentralArkansas – I have been activated by @chefjoseandres and @WCKitchen. Starting Wednesday 1.23 we will be slangin hot chef made meals free of charge to furloughed federal employees and their families. I will feed you every day until you get another paycheck.

It would be nice if Donald Trump stopped holding government, government employees and services from security to the Justice Department hostage to his wall demand. But, for now, it seems like Trump won’t relent and neither will Sen. Mitch McConnell. Call Sens. Tom Cotton and John Boozman. Urge them to vote for the reopening of government while separate negotiations continue on how to best improve border security.
