Arkansas’s Buffalo River has again made a list it’s best not to make — an annual report from America’s Most Endangered Rivers.
The report, issued since 1984, puts the Buffalo at No. 8 this year, calling it threatened by the factory hog feeding operation in the watershed.
The report calls on Gov. Asa Hutchinson to close the operation, a question before his Department of Environmental Quality, the Pollution Control and Ecology Commission and the court system.
Here’s a link to the full report on the Buffalo. It comes with photos of algae blooming in the river.
