A traffic stop in Garland County this morning led to discovery of a man’s body in an unlicensed Cadillac. Circumstances of the man’s death are unclear.
A news release from the sheriff’s office said a deputy attempted to stop an unlicensed Cadillac on Highway 7 South about 3:30 a.m. The vehicle didn’t stop and crashed through a gate at the Hamilton Point condominiums. The driver then ran.
A suspect, Keith Ashlock, 58, of Pine Ridge, was found on top of a building and eventually surrendered to deputies. He was later charged with fleeing, criminal mischief and obstruction of governmental operations.
It was during a vehicle inventory search that the body of a whitre male was found. The body was sent to the Crime Lab for identification and to determine cause of death. The news release said further charges were expected.
