Oaklawn, the racetrack and casino in Hot Springs, has begun taking bets on sporting events, as authorized by the casino gambling amendment approved in 2018 and recent action of the state Racing Commission, which regulates casino gambling in Arkansas.

For now, bets must be placed at Oaklawn from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.. at teller windows but also by machines during hours of casino operation, from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. or 6 a.m. depending on the day. The track has said it hopes to add mobile betting soon, which it already offers for parimutuel betting on horse and dog races.

Oaklawn says betting is offered on:

• Baseball (MLB and NCAA)
• Hockey (NHL)
• Soccer (MLS, Premier League, World Cup)
• Combat Sports (UFC and Boxing)
• Golf (PGA, LPGA)
• Auto-Sport (F-1, NASCAR)
• Tennis
• Olympics, World Cup Events

Sports betting is planned, but not yet approved for the Southland casino in West Mempnis and the Saracen casino under construction in Pine Bluff.
