It appears most of the folks down on the National Mall won’t be able to get very close to the tanks and military vehicles down by the Lincoln Memorial. That area is behind a lot of fencing and security (accessible to VIP’s and other ticketed guests). pic.twitter.com/2iWoyxqnip

You’ve perhaps read that a good soaking rain has preceded the opening of the Donald Trump celebration at the Lincoln Memorial.
The program will start soon, I’m told. pic.twitter.com/rf5Q8yoNc1

A nice bit of symbolisn was chain-link caging to keep non-MAGA types from getting near the Lincoln Memorial during the Donald Trump Day rally. That area is reserved for the political rally with armored vehicles.
(Remember when Republicans went ballistic over a president who allowed friends and supporters to spend the night in the Lincoln Bedroom? Taking over the whole Lincoln Memorial for a partisan party however …..)
Back in Arkansas, I’m enjoying Tweets about barbecue on the lake and other less partisan pursuits. Arkansas did have a visit from a Democratic presidential candidate, U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, but he was dropping in on in-laws. He met the former Susan Daggett when both were Yale law students and married her in Marianna.
We’re back in Marianna, Arkansas, where my wife Susan was born and raised. We’ve been coming ever since before we got married here 22 years ago. Instead of going to parades on the typical campaign trail, we decided to take the July 4th week and spend it in the Delta. pic.twitter.com/88NRIWUvIk
