KEY: With State Board of Ed Chairwoman Diane Zook. Brian Chilson

The state Board of Education said today it had added a fourth meeting to a series of public meetings on the future of the Little Rock School District, nearing completion of five years under state control with little to show for it.

This meeting will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Roberts Elementary in western Little Rock.  The public is also invited to be heard from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Arkansas Baptist College; from 6:30-8 p.m. Aug. 27 at St. Mark Baptist Church, and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the state Education Department auditorium.

Will Little Rock School District voters get full control of their district back, the same as enjoyed in most of the rest of Arkansas? If comments from Diane Zook, chair of the state board, are any clue, the outlook isn’t bright.
