The Republican primary governor’s race in 2020 could be interesting. You’ve got deficit hawk Tim Griffin, now trying to wrap himself in the flag of Donald Trump, maker of this deficit. You may have Trump’s former liar-in-chief, Sarah Huckabee. And assorted other Arkansas Republicans at every level who once said deficits were the runination of the U.S.
What now do they say about deficits? Oh, wait. I have an idea — another tax cut for millionaires. They didn’t get enough the first go-round.
And what about French Hill, advocate of a balanced budget amendment and voter for increased spending and tax cuts for the wealthy? It seems deficit spending mattered to him only when a Democratic administration was doing it.
