The state Education Department has added a public meeting in Southwest Little Rock to the series of meetings to discuss the future of the Little Rock School District, under state control now for almost five years with little to show for it.
It will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Longley Baptist Church at 9900 Geyer Springs Road.
Some criticism had been voiced about a lack of meetings in SWLR, home to schools with some of the greatest needs. One meeting has been held at Arkansas Baptist College. Others are scheduled today at Roberts Elementary in west Little Rock; Tuesday at St. Mark Baptist Church, and Sept. 3 at the state Education Department
