Former Razorback football coach Bobby Petrino spoke to the Little Rock Touchdown Club today and got a standing ovation from a crowd of 700 for his emotional apology and tribute to fans in talking about his departure from Arkansas.
He was fired in 2012 by Athletic Director Jeff Long after a motorcycle accident forced out information about his affair with a staff member. Petrino later coached at Louisville, but lost that job in 2018 when the team dropped to a 2-8 record. He said he’d liked to coach again.
Meanwhile, he’s writing a book about offensive football and working with his son to open fitness studios.
