It takes a lot of time and money to bring you daily reporting and commentary along with in-depth features each month in our magazine. For 45 years, our advertisers have helped us make that happen. We still matter to them. We sell a significant amount of print and digital advertising. Our many platforms — not just print and web, but podcasts, a daily news video, e-newsletters and social media platforms — remain an outstanding way for businesses to reach new customers. (Learn more at arktimes.com/advertise.) But as more advertising moves to the web and Facebook and Google suck up nearly all of that revenue, it becomes increasingly hard to support a publishing company on advertising alone.

We also run a ticket vendor with Central Arkansas Tickets and host a lot of events. Make sure you’ve got tickets to our annual Rhythm & Blues, Ribs & Butts BBQ Competition on Oct. 5 in Argenta, Blues Bus to the King Biscuit Blues Festival Oct. 12, Craft Beer Festival at Diamond Bear Brewing Co. Oct. 25 and Costumes & Cocktails Halloween Bash at Rusty Tractor Vineyards Oct. 31.

But to sustain the Arkansas Times — to allow us to continue to provide in-depth reporting and trenchant commentary you can’t find elsewhere in the state — we need more financial support from readers. For $110 a year (30 cents a day!), you can help preserve the Arkansas Times‘ important voice AND get a valuable gift from another important Central Arkansas cultural institution at the same time.

Thanks for reading and thanks for supporting the Arkansas Times!
