Calvin Adams, serving life without parole for capital murder in Greene County, was recaptured this morning on the grounds of the East Arkansas Regional Prison at Brickeys.
He’d been missing from his barracks-style bunk since sometime Sunday night and officials had surmised he might be still on the grounds because there are only two closely guarded exit points. However, Adams had escaped from the Cummins Unit in 2009 by walking out in a guard uniform. He drove off with another inmate and later was arrested in New York state.
Dina Tyler of the Correction Department said Adams was found hiding under a ventilation hood on the roof of the prison. She reported no incidents in his recapture.
