Bryan Fulwider, a former pastor at Arkansas churches accused of sexual battery of a former congregant in Florida, committed suicide Sunday at his Florida home, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Fulwider, who moved to Florida in 1999 after 11 years as a preacher in Arkansas churches in Little Rock and Sherwood, had become widely known in Florida as host of a radio talk show on religious topics. He was free on bail since his arrest in early October for raping a member of his Congregational Church, beginning in 2005 when she was 14. He was found dead in his home in Altamonte, Fla., Sunday night. His sons issued a statement to the Orlando newspaper this week saying they believed the victim and commended her courage in coming forward.
