Two fatal crashes that killed four people on Interstate 30 near Bryant on Thanksgiving day lead the news. The line is open.
Three were killed when a Nissan Altima that had been stopped on the eastbound shoulder slowly re-entered the roadway and was hit from the rear by a 2019 Volvo truck. Three passengers in the car were killed — Katrina Dunnick, 39, of Little Rock, and two minors. Two other minors, including the driver, also were injured, as was the driver of the truck, Mavlyud Akhmedov, 53, of Okemos, Mich. The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. near the Reynolds Road exit at mile marker 123.
Thursday morning, near mile marker 124 on Interstate 30, Jenna Kelton, 24, of Alexander was killed when a Ford Mustang driven by Alfred Pascual, 20, of Benton left a service road on the north side of the freeway, crossed the median and came to a stop in the westbound lanes. Kelton’s Nissan Altima, which was westbound on I-30, hit the right front of Pascual’s Ford.
