HOUSE DISTRICT 34 PRIMARY RUNOFF ELECTION: Ryan Davis, at podium, is a candidate. Brian Chilson

The House District 34 Democratic Primary runoff election takes place today, and Little Rock residents will choose between Joy Springer, who won around 43 percent of the vote on Jan. 14, and Ryan Davis, who won 34 percent of the vote.

Polls are open until 7:30 p.m.

The results of today’s election will determine which candidate will go up against Roderick Talley, who’s running as an independent candidate, in the general election on Feb. 18. The winner will fill the seat of Rep. John Walker, who died in October.

Springer, 63, is office manager at Walker’s law firm, and Davis, 41, of UALR Children International. Davis was recently involved in a confrontation with neighborhood residents after a campaign party held in his honor in Little Rock’s Capitol View neighborhood. Davis and Rep. Vivian Flowers (D-Pine Bluff) are asking for an arrest and a Little Rock Citizens Review Board investigation into the incident.
