The Arkansas unemployment rate in May dropped to 9.5 percent from an adjusted 10.8 percent in April thanks to the reopening of businesses hit by the coronavirus crisis.

The workforce grew by 33,715, with 12,663 fewer unemployed and 46,378 more employed.
