Becky Elliot of Stuttgart bought a $20 Million Dollar Spectacular lottery ticket yesterday at an E-Z Mart on Main Street and found it was a $1 million winner.
Said a news release:
She wants to continue working even though she has brought home a life-changing lottery prize.
“I’ve been working for more than 32 years, and I’m really not the type to retire, but if I decide to, I would like to go to Heber Springs to get away from the mosquitos!”
Elliott plans to pay bills and help her children and grandchildren with her winnings.
About a third of the winnings will be withheld for state and federal taxes.
The Arkansas lottery said two “live” million-dollar winners remain on this particular scratch-off game, which happens to be the incentive being offered to people who get their first COVID-19 vaccination today or later. Governor Hutchinson announced yesterday that 50,000 of the $20 tickets had been purchased to give away as incentives, starting today. People who get shots may choose instead to get $20 gift certifications from the Game and Fish Commission to apply to hunting and fishing licenses.
