COVID today: 1,434 new cases, a big jump in active cases and seven more deaths

Here’s the daily rundown of changes in the Arkansas COVID count based on the Arkansas Department of Health’s online summary:

Total cases: 858,553, an additional 1,434 since Wednesday

Active cases: 9,243, up from 8,468

Deaths: 11,559, an increase of seven.

Hospitalized: 196, up from 193

In ICU:  32, same as yesterday

On ventilators:  10, down from 11

Vaccinations to date: 4,100,741, about 1,300 more in the last 24 hours.
