The Arkansas Department of Health reported 1,137 new COVID-19 positive cases Aug. 23. Nine deaths were added, which brought the statewide total to 11,870.

Hospitalization numbers dropped 17 to 303 total statewide. Patients on ventilators dropped by four, which left 68 patients total. Those on ventilators increased by one, now a total of 15.

Active cases rose 16, which brought the number to 10,678 infections.

Total case numbers are now 924,649.
