The Conway School Board has appointed its newest member, Bill Milburn.

Milburn is a retired Conway police major who said he attended Conway Public Schools as a child and studied business administration at Northwest Nazarene University.

Milburn succeeds Scott Champlin, who resigned from his Zone 5 board seat in September. Milburn is to serve until the next annual school election. A director then will be elected to serve the remainder of Champlin’s unexpired term, which ends in 2024.

The board, which already has three other new members, discussed the appointment in a closed, session Tuesday night and announced its decision afterward.
