Leander Drive runs south off Kanis Road, west of the Kanis intersection with Rodney Parham. The address appears to be at or near an apartment complex.

A subsequent news release provided little additional information.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 11:40 PM, officers in the Northwest Division responded to a shooting just occurred call for service at 1400 Leander Drive. Upon responding officers’ arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the shooting victim to a local hospital. The victim later died as a result of his injuries.
