Gov. Sarah Sanders

Looking to cozy up with Gov.-elect Sarah Huckabee Sanders? She’ll be sworn in Jan. 10 and has planned a host of events to celebrate. Here’s her inaugural schedule and what it’ll cost you to attend:

The preacher says that you can’t buy your ticket to heaven, but a $100,000 contribution to the inaugural committee will get you four reserved seats for prayer and worship at Fellowship Bible Church the morning of Jan. 10. A $50,000 gift gets you two reserved seats. Anything below that and you’ll have to fend for yourself.

That’s some high-dollar stuff, but the working class won’t be shut out in the cold. Tickets for Saturday’s “Freedom Fest BBQ” can be had for $25 per. Sanders makes a nod to her quiverfull supporters by capping the barbecue ticket price at $100 for a family, meaning the Duggars are in for a bargain.

Teetotaling evangelicals will likely skip out on the other eyebrow-raising event: Bourbon & Cigars, hosted by “first gent” Brian Sanders, with the future governor making an appearance. You don’t have to be a swell to swill; one ticket for $250 will potentially get you some face time.

But cigars and bourbon? Does this suggest a departure in policy from Bro. Gov. Huck, who didn’t serve alcohol in the Governor’s Mansion during his tenure? I’ve asked and will let you know in the unlikely event I hear back.
