Prosecutors recommended today that Richard “Bigo” Barnett of Gravette be sentenced to seven years and three months in prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

Barnett became known worldwide because of a photo that showed him posing with one of his feet propped on a desk in the office of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

In a document filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., prosecutors said the suggested prison term was at the top of the 70- to 87-month federal guidelines. They also recommended three years of supervised release after Barnett gets out of prison, a $25,000 fine, $2,000 in restitution and a mandatory special assessment of $455.
