EAST LITTLE ROCK COMMUNITY PARK: A dedication of a new Little Rock park will be held on Saturday.

A gaggle of local officials will host a dedication ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday for a new Little Rock park that will include a meditation garden, game areas, a veggie garden and a pavilion.

The East Little Rock Community Park is at 801 Calhoun St. near the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport. Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr., various city directors and Jill Floyd, the chairwoman to the airport commission, will be present for the dedication. Members from the Rodney Block Collective and the First Baptist Church Choir are expected to perform.

The park dedication comes after nearly two years of design and construction work, according to a release from the airport.

“The airport funded and constructed the new community-focused park, located in the neighborhood west of the airport, as a quality-of-life amenity for those who live near or work at the airport and for airport users,” the statement read. “The airport worked with community members to design the park and invested nearly $600,000 to build it.”
