Amber Pool of Lonoke will join the state Medical Marijuana Commission. Arkansas Speaker of the House Matthew Shepherd announced the appointment Monday.

Pool will serve a four-year term, replacing Jessica Mobley, whose term expired March 6.

Pool is the co-owner of Pool Fisheries Specialty Fish in Lonoke. She’s worked in government roles before, having served as the director of operations and executive administrator to the speaker in the Arkansas House of Representatives. 

The Medical Marijuana Commission includes five people. Two are appointed by the speaker of the house, two are appointed by president pro tem of the senate and one is appointed by the governor. Here’s the full list of commissioners.

Other commissioners include Kevin Case, James Miller, Tyler Ketner and Reginal Thomas Sr.
