CAPITAL MURDER: North Little Rock police arrested Christopher Pearson today and charged him with capital murder.

North Little Rock police arrested 32-year-old Christopher Pearson today and charged him with capital murder in a homicide that occurred earlier this month. 

Pearson, of North Little Rock, was arrested without incident in the death of 55-year-old Michael Lamar Smith. On the morning of August 5, police found Smith lying on the ground with “significant trauma” in the 800 block of East 14th St. in North Little Rock, according to a press release from the police department.

North Little Rock detectives identified Pearson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on Monday. Pearson was interviewed and transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility where he is being held without bond, according to the press release.
