Two men were fatally shot just after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 3, according to the Little Rock Police Department.
Information at this point is scant. LRPD spokesperson Mark Edwards said the police report would be available later on Monday.
Officers responded to the 1600 block of W. 22nd Street early Sunday morning and found two men dead with gunshot wounds. The victims have not yet been publicly identified. An investigation is ongoing.
The killings brought the 2023 Little Rock homicide count to 57, according to the LRPD. The department’s count does not include an officer-involved death and a death that occurred under the jurisdiction of police at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Little Rock homicides are down this year compared to 2022, though 2022 was a record-high year. The 2023 homicide count is on par with data from the last five years, according to the LRPD.
