Time Out Corner Cafe has opened at the southeast corner of Markham and Scott streets, on the first floor of the Heritage West building. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and, early in 2005, will have an opening into the Amy Howard Richmond Fine Art gallery in the Heritage West building. Richmond, who bought her gallery space from Mary Cornwell, who operated it as Olivia Cornwell Gallery, owns the cafe. The kitchen is operated by Ann Davis, who owns The Art of Catering.
Time Out Corner Cafe is among the many restaurants in the area that through this week are serving Little Rock Cheese Dip, a Velveeta-and-Rotel concoction that the Downtown Partnership hopes will put the city on the food map in the way Buffalo is famous for wings.
The other restaurants involved in the promotion are Sticky Fingerz, Flying Saucer, Juanita’s, Sonny Williams’ Steak Room, the Doubletree, Vermillion Water Grille, the Peabody’s Mallard Bar, Courtyard by Marriott and Comfort Inn.
Classie Chics, a new ladies’ “clubhouse and gift shop” that has opened at 110 Main St. in North Little Rock, is offering costumed luncheon by reservation on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Call 350-0060. You make a reservation that suits your time, arrive and you’re taken back to “Memaw’s closet” to pick out a hat, gloves, jewelry and more before joining the other ladies for lunch in the clubroom.
Chicken salad on croissant, green salad, and cheese cake with caramel sauce ($11.99) is this month’s lunch.
