Jason’s Deli on Shackleford in West Little Rock informs us that it is no longer using items with trans-fatty acids. The bio-chemistry aspects aside, the gist of that is that the food now is supposed to be heart-healthier. Jason’s says it’s the first national chain to go totally fat-free.
NYPD Pizza Deli and Restaurant opened last month at the corner of Highway 10 and Chenonceau near the Chenal Valley subdivision and across from the Ranch development. The menu has been drawn up like a police report, with menu items as “evidence.” Such evidence includes several varieties of pizza in sizes from personal (10-inch) to extra large, as well as salads, calzones, pastas and desserts. New-York-style canno-lis are even on the menu, but last week the store was waiting on the right ricotta cream filling to arrive so they could add them to the dessert case.
