Two new Tropical Smoothie Cafes are in the mixer: One in Conway, on Club Lane opposite McDonald’s West, and another in Little Rock, on Sam Peck Road and Highway 10. The Tropical Smoothie in Conway should open in the next couple of weeks; the Little Rock franchise is farther down the road. The Tropical Smoothie franchise features fresh fruit smoothies (some with various protein powders added), wraps, sandwiches and salads. Chris Kramolis, who opened the Tropical Smoothie at 11900 Kanis Road three years ago, will also operate the new Little Rock outlet. Call 221-6773 for more information.
Best Impressions at the Arkansas Arts Center will be open Thursday and Friday nights on a regular basis starting tonight (Thursday, Aug. 11). Dining room manager Kay Young said dinner menu prices will range from $15 to $28 and will include special appetizers and entrees (such as beef tenderloin, tuna fillet and scallops) and an apple pie quesadilla. The bar will stir up specialty martinis, too. Dinner hours are 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; happy hour will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
