Istanbul Mediterranean Cuisine is scheduled to open March 19 in the Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center. The fast casual restaurant is advertising that it will feature a wide variety of kebabs, gyros and “Turkish delights.” No website yet, but staff is being hired.
Scott McGehee, of Boulevard Bread and ZaZa, is looking for space to open a gastropub. Together with his sous chef Jeff Mosely, formerly of Cobblestone Deli in Maumelle, McGehee hopes to open a spot that would emphasize breakfast, high quality pub food and drink — in a comfortable setting, filled with couches and other lounge-y seating.
This concept replaces Big Orange, the breakfast-focused bistro McGehee hoped to open in the renovated Riviera condos in Riverdale. That project faltered for a number of reasons, McGehee says, perhaps chiefly because of the economy.
Last week, we mistakenly listed the hours for the Station Grocery and Deli, the new organic, gourmet and locally focused store in Stifft Station. At least initially, the store’s hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Co-owner Holly Ingebo says the deli might extend its hours and open on Sunday in summer.
The deli, which wasn’t full service when the Station opened, now is. The phone number is 664-3200. The website is thestationlr.com.
