Ciao Baci’s Jeff Owen is the featured chef for this year’s Soup Sunday, the annual fundraiser for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families that draws in slurpers and dancers of all ages by the hundreds and is coming Feb. 24 to the Statehouse Convention Center.

Here’s the skinny: From 4-7 p.m. Soup Sunday, folks armed with muffin tins (to try the many varieties of soup) will flood the Wally Allen Ballroom to sup on soup, breads and desserts from Central Arkansas’s chefs. Silent and live auctions and live music will accompany the souper event, and there will be kids activities, too. Rob Evans of THV This Morning will emcee, and Krishna Ellington and Kirby Miraglia are chairing the event.

Tickets are $35 for adults ($40 at the door) and $10 for children 5-17. Younger children get in free. Shell out $60 for a patron ticket: That will get you into the Patron Room, where you can dish up special soup and goodies from Ciao Baci and get free beer and wine. Register for the event here.
