AT THE CROSSROADS: Count Porkula will open its Keightley location Dec. 13. Count Porkula

Count Porkula BBQ “at the Crossroads” will open its doors to the public Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 201 Keightley Drive in a newly built restaurant north of the intersection of Cantrell and Mississippi in the space where Ozark Country Restaurant was located.

This will be brand’s second stand-alone location. Earlier this year Count Porkula opened Count Porkula BBQ “On the Boulevard” in North Little Rock at 10840 Maumelle Blvd. On Nov. 30, owners Walt Todd and Kelly Lovell announced they were leaving their location at the The Rail Yard food truck beer garden in Little Rock’s East Village neighborhood. Todd and Lovell moved into The Rail Yard in 2018 after 10 years of operating a food truck and competing in barbecue competitions.

The menu at the new Keightley location will be consistent with its Maumelle location with some slight tweaks, according to a press release. It was also have extended hours and will run location-specific specials and events.

Owners Todd and Lovell first announced plans to expand in the brand in 2021, along with news that they’d partnered with the Keet family’s JTJ Restaurants LLC on both stand-alone restaurants.

“The entire Team at JTJ has been great to work with, and their experience in the food industry has opened our eyes to new processes and procedures for both the North Little Rock and our new Keightly location,” says Co-Owner, Walt Todd. “ We’re excited to open the doors to the new Crossroads location in midtown. Its central location will allow us to bring West Little Rock, Heights and Hillcrest, and various other neighboring local areas  together for a BBQ experience like no other!”

Count Porkula at the Crossroads is currently hiring for all positions to gear up for the opening of the new location. Count Porkula BBQ was established in 2008 by Kelly Lovell and Walt Todd. After ten years of BBQ competitions and operating a well-loved food truck, owners Lovell and Todd opened their first brick-and-mortar location in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas, which the restaurant called home from 2018-2022.
