St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church will be hosting its annual Ribfest cook-off on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 20900 Chenal Parkway from 4-7 p.m.
The competing teams will be firing up their smokers at 9 a.m. When the doors open to the public at 4 p.m., patrons can sample all the ribs and vote on their favorites. Ballots must be turned in by 6:30 p.m.
This is the fourth year of the annual cook-off, which also features several craft vendors, live music, beer from Stone’s Throw Brewing and a big screen TV tuned in to college football. Last year, the Hogs were on in a game versus Texas A&M that started so well and ended so poorly. But the ribs were fantastic, and Jimmy’s Jerk Chicken & BBQ took home the 1st place prize.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for children ages 6-12 (children 5 and under get in free). All proceeds benefit the outreach ministries of St. Margaret’s.
It’s not too late to compete if you want to get a team together. Details can be found here and all teams must be registered by Sept. 15.
Craft vendor booths are available for a $35 entry fee, which includes one free event entry ticket.
